Talents Wasted

December 2008, New Poem:

Dancing around the abyss
Touching not like a dangerous kiss
Jumping full force fooling few
Holding hands two by two

In this day of sad, mute thunder
Wondering what goes on there under
The protective sheets that cover my soul
And hide the times of the long dark hole.

So much to do while mostly asleep
Tired and weak with energy flagging
Hopes and dreams mostly sagging
Wish I could be the girl I was
Talents wasted.
